VTech Safe & Sound® Pan & Tilt Full-Color Video & Audio Monitor (VM333)

All parents need to know that their little one is safe no matter where they are. There are dangers everywhere, especially in our rooms. Once mommy caught me climbing on my dresser. Knowing what I’m doing helps keep me out of trouble. When mommy was asked to review the new VTech Safe and Sound Pan & Tilt Full-Color Video & Audio Monitor, without hesitation she said yes. Now most people think that baby monitors should be used for babies, but toddlers may actually need them just as much as babies do. After all we tend to get into a lot more trouble than they do. Babies tend to stay still while we’re always on the go. I don’t think a baby would have been able to climb on that dresser, do you? Now mommy is able to keep an eye on me all the time thanks to VTech and their new line of monitors.

The new Pan & Tilt Full-Color Video & Audio Monitor (MSRP: $179.95) uses 2.4GHz digital frequency hopping spread spectrum technology that constantly switches frequencies to provide secure audio/visual monitoring that prevents interference and unwelcome spying. High-quality sounds and video resolution is available up to 1,000 feet away, providing flexibility and reliability as the caregiver moves about the home. The 2.8-inch video screen and 2x zooming capability allow parents to observe big and small movements for peace of mind. If parents want to console a child, the two-way intercom system provides an alternative to entering the room to deliver a quick calming word.

“This versatile, pan and tilt addition to VTech’s baby monitor line grows with a baby’s mobility and a family’s need for peace of mind,” said Matt Ramage, senior vice president, product management, VTech Communications, Inc. “VTech’s monitors have been recognized by parents for rich features and smart prices, and we are committed to continually anticipating their needs and delivering products that make their lives easier while keeping them better connected.”

Not limited to checking on children, the pan and tilt monitor can be used for various home needs such as keeping an eye on pets or caring for an older adult. Up to three additional cameras can be added (VM303, MSRP: $59.95) to provide four views simultaneously on a split video screen. Even in a dark room, the infrared night-vision capability gives visibility while a temperature sensor allows users to make sure their loved ones or pets are comfortable. A six-level LED sound indicator and a vibrating alert for when the receiver is muted provide options for an alert system that works best for each family.
