I recently received a really cool product from The Monster Factory that although is technically for my bigger brothers I got to enjoy it as well. I may have even enjoyed it more than my brothers although they had fun as well.

From the title of my post and the follow up photo I’m sure you’ve figured out what it is. It’s a 1965 VW Camper Van Play Tent. I had never seen one of these vans before but apparently mommy and daddy had. I had forgotten they were around when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. This is V. W. licensed and built to (scaled down) spec. It even came in this really cool VW wheel case so it’s very portable and be taken around with you like a bag.

Now mommy was a little skeptical when she saw that it said it sets up in 2 minutes. Really? Mommy never knows how to do anything but daddy surely does and daddy did it in 2 minutes. They surely weren’t lying about that. Now mommy tried to get a video of daddy doing it but couldn’t get a clear video so mommy will be using the videos from The Monster Factory showing you the set up and takedown. Not to be outdone mommy did get a rather decent video of me and Mikael playing with our new tent.

Now this can seat 3 children very comfortably. Kyle, Mikael and myself although I’m a tiny person was able to fit really well with still lots of room. When we got this we were having lots of rain where I live so mommy wasn’t able to set it up outdoors. I’m glad she didn’t because it looks so much cooler in my room.

It is made of a polyester material like your wind jackets that we wear in the fall to keep the wind off although this will not stand up to very strong winds outdoors. If you’re setting this up outside, may we suggest bringing it in after playing with it.

It is recommended for ages 3+ because of small parts that can become a choking hazard although mommy looked and didn’t see the small parts they were talking about. To be on the safe side if you do buy it for your little one younger than 3 please supervise while they’re playing in the tent.

This is the real deal. It can be used for overnight slumber parties. The kids would have fun in this. My brother and I like to lay in there with our pillows and pretend we’re sleeping. I’ve never had so much fun in a tent. Actually this is the only tent I’ve actually been in and I had a blast. Don’t believe me? Check out the video that mommy and I promised you.

The Monster Factory 1965 VW Camper Van Play Tent is available in the colors of blue, pink or red. This makes the perfect holiday gift which is why we’ve listed it in our Holiday Gift Guide.

You can buy your very own The Monster Factory 1965 VW Camper Van Play Tent at The Monster Factory’s Website or at Bed Bath and Beyond.
